Robin Potter (PsyD) is a licensed psychologist in private practice in the state of Arizona. She received her bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and worked as a flight instructor for a number of years. In an effort to be of service to others, she went on to receive her masters and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology. She worked at the Phoenix Vet Center for eight years with combat veterans, military sexual trauma and family members suffering traumatic loss of a soldier. She has experience working with individuals, couples and intensive psychotherapy groups. Robin is an associate professor for ASU, Argosy University and Midwestern University, providing supervision for doctoral students. She is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy , Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy , EMDR and she completed the intermediate portion of training for Somatic Experiencing . Dr. Potter is skilled in EMDR 2.0, a new method of EMDR that utilizes the blend of exposure and working memory taxation to reduce the intensity of traumatic memories. The mix of therapeutic tactics is very effective, often requiring fewer sessions to achieve success. Dr. Potter is also a certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Individual supervisor. Additionally Dr. Potter has experienced great success with, and thus incorporates, mindfulness and meditation practice into much of her work with clients. Working with a therapist starts the healing process while mindfulness and meditation truly fortifies the benefits of that counseling beyond the office. Dr. Potter does not accept any insurance and her rate is $250/hr.
