Biographical Info

From couples where the relationship seems dead to those experiencing high conflict, Jonathan helps you understand how you have gotten stuck in unhealthy/unproductive patterns. He works with you step-by-step to help you break free of these patterns and learn how to forgive, repair, connect, and move forward. Jonathan views counseling as a sacred trust and sincerely desires success for all those with whom he works. Jonathan currently serves as a Chaplain in the Arizona Army National Guard. He has counseled hundreds of our country’s servicemen and women about matters related to trauma, relationships, and faith. Along with his wife, he has taught dozens of Strong Bonds marriage retreats to help better those who so valiantly serve our country to strengthen their marriages. He is ready and able to counsel individuals, couples, and families who experience this military/first-responder lifestyle and those with similar challenges, including extended separation, reintegration struggles, resilience, etc. Jonathan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and an Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. He received his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, a second Master’s degree in Bible and Ministry from Lubbock Christian University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from Brigham Young University (BYU). He has served as a Chaplain in AZ National Guard since 2011 and is a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist. Jonathan is an instant friend to everyone and wears his classic “permagrin” on his face. Some people ask if he ever frowns! As the proud daddy of six cute little blondes, he has been married to his college sweetheart since 2006. He loves to run with their boxer/lab mix pup Penny, lift weights, and go camping and target shooting. One of his greatest joys is playing the piano, as well as his cello, guitar, and any other instruments he gets his hands on. Jonathan loves to laugh and be outdoors hiking and camping with his family. He also enjoys traveling and experiencing new things.
